Alex Osborne

Alex has a passion for people, their diverse cultures and international travel. Fluent in French and Spanish, she has lived and worked extensively abroad: from teaching music to talented performing arts children at a New York summer camp, to assisting French guests at a beach hotel reception in Biarritz; from interpreting in Valencia, to teaching English in a remote hilltop Vietnamese school. Alex has a fascination for the diversity that exists on our planet.

Originally from a small village in Yorkshire, Alex’s inspiration was Fiona Bruce and she got the bug for broadcasting whilst at university in Manchester, as a News Presenter for the student radio station, ‘Fuse FM’. After graduating, Alex was selected to host a live performance showcase event for the BBC in Cumbria. In-between elephant trekking on a gap year in Southeast Asia, Alex was then invited to present live cultural and music shows at a French radio station, ‘EU Radio Nantes’. She conducted over fifty interviews in various foreign languages, an experience which led to her first role at the BBC.

She made the move to the other end of the country and became the Travel Presenter and Entertainment Reporter at BBC Radio Devon in Plymouth in 2011. As well as now being a professionally trained TV and Radio Presenter based in London, Alex comes highly recommended for her organisation and talent in high-profile BBC Productions. These include BBC2’s Brian Cox series ‘Human Universe’, BBC Radio 3, the BBC Proms and BBC Music Television.

Alex loves entertainment and the performing arts. She has appeared in multiple shows for Pineapple Dance Studios, formed her own String Quartet, performs with an all-BBC acoustic group and has hosted Live Events for the BBC Proms.

Her drive to succeed has seen her produce, research, write and present her latest project “Cultural Capital”, at Pinewood Studios with TTA.TV. Alex is very grateful to the TV Training Academy for giving her this opportunity and hopes this will provide a platform for her next presenting project over the coming months.
