Rachel Fitzsimmons

Rachel was born in Wales but has lived and worked in Liverpool for the past 16 years. After gaining her BA Hons in Communications in Hull, Rachel moved to Liverpool where she  worked with young people, gaining her Post Graduate Diploma in Youth Work in 2009. For the last 10 years Rachel has been a Sexual Health Educator for children and young people and trains professionals and parents in talking to young people about sex and relationships. Rachel is a dynamic and skilled communicator experienced at presenting to large and small groups of people.

Starting her presenting career on college Radio, she has since appeared on a local radio show in an expert role discussing the importance of Quality Sex Education, and in 2002 successfully auditioned and progressed to the final stages of HTV Wales ‘Presenters’ competition. Rachel has completed TV Presenter training with TV-Training and is highly motivated to pursue her presenting career.

Rachel’s real skill is making difficult issues easier to talk about. She can engage with children and young people as well as parents and professionals, often on highly sensitive emotive issues and encourage people to feel comfortable.

Rachel’s other passion is cooking and has even developed her own cooking course called ‘Cooktastic’ working with children and families, developing their skills in the kitchen.

Rachel has a natural warmth and infectious energy , which people find engaging. She builds rapport and trust quickly and her relaxed yet passionate style is perfect for winning over even the most difficult audiences.

Rachel lives at home in Liverpool with her partner Andy and their two children.
